The Great Gatsby
The pieces below have been created for a conceptual live-action adaptation of The Great Gatsby. Instead of 1920s New York, this version takes place in 1950s Los Angeles, with many of the locations being inspired by real places. Although major details from the book have been changed to reflect the new location, these concept designs honor F. Scott Fitzgerald’s interpretation of the illusion of the American Dream.
Since my version of the story takes place in Los Angeles instead of New York City, the architecture has been changed to reflect that. Gatsby’s mansion is done in a Spanish Colonial style, pulling inspiration from Hearst Castle, which I had the pleasure of visiting this past summer.
